The second meeting of the Capture SIG was another success. Eleven of us met and reviewed the elements of the Exposure Triangle and the explored the use of the different camera modes, Auto, Aperture, Shutter Speed, Program and Manual. We shared many experiences, both good and bad and talked about the different reasons for making a particular mode choice. There were a number of “Aha!” moments.
Next month we will delve into Focus setting options and Metering setting options. We will also noodle through more personal experience dilemmas. “Why did my image come out like that??!!”
In a previous post I gave links to websites/blog that are helpful. Please add http://www.davemorrowphotography.com” to that list. He has some seriously in depth writings about these very topics. Also I will mention again, Steve Perry’s site, http://www.backcountrygallery.com which is chock full of info on metering and focus options. He writes from a Nikon perspective, but the principles are universal. Good homework assignment for next month.
Thanks to all for your participation.
