Station Cove – Photographing Wildflowers and a Waterfall
Friday, March 12, 8:00 AM until 3:30 PM
Brief Description – Mary and I were there last Thursday and we found Sweet Betsy trillium, a few yellow trillium, rue anemone, sharplobe hepatica, halberd-leafed violets and a nice waterfall.
We will leave the South Broad Park parking lot in Brevard at 8:00 AM and arrive at the trailhead by 10:15. The hike is an out-and-back easy 1.5-mile hike with a 100 foot elevation change. We will hike, photograph, and eat lunch at the waterfall. We will leave for the trip home by 2:30 PM so we will be back to South Broad Park by 3:30 PM.

Location – Station Cove falls trail is near Oconee Station State Historic Site off of SC 11 in South Carolina, about one hour from Brevard.
What’s There – A three-quarter mile trail (1.5 mile out and back) leads to Station Cove falls. Along the trail are many wildflowers.
Level of Difficulty – The hike is an out-and-back easy 1.5-mile hike with a 100 foot elevation change.
Date/Time – Friday, March 12, 8:00 AM until 3:30 PM.
Directions – The South Broad Park parking lot entrance is off of Varsity Street. Varsity Street is the street opposite the Cardinal Drive-in on South Broad Street. The Station Cove Falls trail is located off of SC 11, about 1 hour from Brevard.
Lunch – We will eat along the trail at the waterfall, so bring a lunch and something to drink.

Restrooms – There is a restroom at Oconee Station Historic site near where we will join the trail. We will stop there before and after the hike.
Cost – There is no charge for access to Station Cove trail. If you plan to ride with someone else, be prepared to help with gas.
