As long as there are social distancing recommendations in effect, the camera club will be meeting virtually using Zoom, a videoconferencing app.

Most of our meetings go like this: as we arrive we socialize, we have announcements, we turn off the lights and look at a projected image on a screen for the program. With Zoom, we can have a similar experience. We will start the Zoom video conference 15 minutes early. As everyone arrives, we can socialize via Zoom, folks will make announcements, and then we can use screen sharing for the presentation, pausing as needed for questions and answers.

Zoom allows several options for participation. You can turn on your video camera and microphone or you can participate via voice without sharing your video. You will still be able to see everything else. You can also join via phone (unfortunately, there is not a local or toll-free number). If you join via phone, you will be able to listen and talk, but you will not be able to see the video portion.

For our Zoom meetings, we will be sharing a link that you can use to join the meeting. We will password protect our meetings and for SIG meetings we will be using a virtual “Waiting Room”. When you login to the meeting you will be placed in the “Waiting Room”. The meeting leader will add you to the meeting.
