The Land of Waterfalls Camera Club was organized in the fall of 2006 for photographers in the Brevard and Transylvania County area of Western North Carolina. The club’s orientation is toward learning and sharing the craft of making high-quality images. We emphasize the artistic, aesthetic side of photography and understanding how to make fine images with our cameras.
The club is open to all photographers and aspiring photographers, beginner or advanced, interested in learning, growing and improving their skills. It’s not important where you are on the path today, but that you have a sincere interest and desire to grow and get better at the craft of photography.
The club has monthly meetings and special interest groups covering a wide range of topics and periodically offers field trips, providing an opportunity for members to join in their mutual passion for making photographs. Visitors are always welcome! Please see the “Upcoming Meetings” tab for more information.
The Land of Waterfalls Camera Club currently meets on Zoom the 3rd Thursday of each month. We look forward to getting back to our in-person meeting location at the Transylvania County Parks and Recreation Center. Guests are always welcome, so if you would like to attend one of our Zoom meetings, please send us a request at info@lowccnc.com
Social time: 6:30 – 7:00 PM
Meeting time: 7:00 – 9:00 PM
Directions:
The recreation center is located behind the Pisgah Forest Elementary School on Ecusta Road in Brevard, NC.
Ecusta Road is just west of the intersection of US-64 (from Hendersonville), US-276 (from Waynesville, Pisgah National Forest and the Blue Ridge Parkway) and NC-280 (from the Asheville airport and I-26). Ecusta Road is at the traffic signal near Lowe’s. From this traffic signal, turn south on Ecusta Road, drive approximately 1.2 miles, and turn right into the 2nd driveway for the school. There’s a white sign with red letters for the recreation center. Stay to the left, and follow the drive around to the back of the school — you’ll see the recreation center. If you get to the railroad tracks on Ecusta Road, you’ve gone a little too far.
Inclement Weather Policy
While we try to hold all meetings as scheduled, people’s safety and well-being are a top priority. So, if the weather is really bad, there will not be a meeting. Our policy is to cancel the meeting if the Transylvania County schools are closed. If it’s unsafe for the kids, it’s unsafe for us too!
